About Groundwork Botanicals
Groundwork Botanicals is a small-batch grower of herbs, peppers, and botanicals based in St. Augustine, Florida (USDA Zone 9b). What began as a few containers on a screened patio has grown into a working garden devoted to flavor, color, and craft.
What we grow
Our specialty is the datil pepper — a fiery, fruity heirloom native to St. Augustine and found almost nowhere else in the world. Alongside it we raise butterfly pea for color-changing teas, holy basil, lemon balm, bee balm, and a rotating cast of peppers and botanicals destined for spice blends, dried flowers, and herbal tea.
Our approach
Everything is grown in containers and raised beds, by hand, in small batches. We favor a working-farmer practicality over fuss: grow what thrives in our heat and humidity, harvest at peak, and dry or blend with care.
